On August 14th shortly after midnight, Battalion 3 and Battalion 2 were dispatched to 1511 Clements Bridge Road, Deptford Center for Rehabilitation, for a fire alarm activation. Crews arrived to find an active fire alarm and investigated finding an accidental activation and no further fire department services were needed. As Squad 921 was leaving, the fire department was dispatched for a motor vehicle crash involving a fire hydrant on Almonesson Road north of Locust Grove Boulevard. Squad 921 arrived to find the Deptford Police Department investigating a hit and run crash involving a fire hydrant. Crews ensured there was no hazard and notified the Deptford Municipal Authority. The DPD released the fire department and Squad 921 returned to the station. at 0127 hours Battalion 3 was dispatched to 497 Caulfield Avenue for a vehicle fire near a residence. The crew from Squad 921 was still in station and called 9301 and advised him of the staffing and permission was granted for the response of 921. Squad 921 arrived to find a motor vehicle down a long driveway next to a garage well off. The crew went in service with a 1 3/4 hand line to extinguish the fire. The crew then remained on location to provide lighting and other resources for the investigation by the Deptford Police Department, Deptford Fire Marshal’s Office, and the Gloucester County Fire Marshal’s office. Crews cleared the scene at 0425 hours.
