On Monday September 24, 2018 at 0640 hours, Squad 921 along with the Westville Fire Department and the Woolwich Fire Company were dispatched to the New Jersey Turnpike for a Commercial vehicle fire. Crews arrived to find the trailer portion of a tractor trailer well involved in fire. The suppression was led by Squad 921 with the assistance of the crews of Rescue 738 and Engine 942. Two water tenders were summoned to the scene with 2514 (Woolwich) and 1914 (East Greenwich) each bringing 3000 gallons of water. The cargo of the trailer was a full load of vegatables, red bell peppers. Once the suppresion was completed the crews stood by until the tow services seperated the burnt portions of the trailer and moved the cargo so the deep seated fire could be extinguished. Crews cleared the scene at 1131 hours.
