On November 3, 2018 shortly after midnight, a quick moving storm rolled through the area bringing high winds and heavy rain. The strong winds caused a large tree to snap bringing part of the tree on top of a 3 story residence on Yorktown Court. The tree penetrated the roof of the residence. Crews arrived on location and assessed the damage and ensured that no one was injured inside the residence. Due to the heavy rain and fear of ceiling collapse, Tower 926 was set up and the crew went to the roof and determined that there were three branches that penetrated the roof like spears. A plan was developed to safely remove the branches and the crew used salvage equipment from Tower 926 to cover the roof and prevent further damage. The crews also assisted the residents with securing damage to sliding glass door that was shattered when the tree crashed into the house. Crews from Squad 921 and Tower 926 were on location for approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes assisting the resident.
