On Saturday October 4th all of the members of the Deptford Fire Department hosted an open house at the Deptford Memorial Park (formally Fasola Park) This event was for the community to meet and greet the members of the Deptford Fire Department, see the equipment that the Deptford Fire Department uses, and gather tips on Fire Prevention and Fire Safety. There were displays and activities sponsored by the Fire Cadet program within the FD. These young men and women really showed what can be accomplished with team work. Retired Chief Glenn Roemich from the Paulsboro Fire Department brought “patches”, a robot fire truck and dog to entertain the children. The DFD mascot “”Blaze” was absolutely a hero to everyone. Plenty of pictures taken with him! The weather for the day was wonderful and the crowd was good. A HUGE shout out to Battalion Chief Jason Kell for all his hard work and time in setting the event up. Canteen 9, members of the Oak Valley Fire Company, hit it out of the park with the refreshments for the day!
