On Saturday October 18, 2025, the Fire Department of New York (FDNY) held their Post 9/11 memorial service honor those who have lost their lives post September 11, 2001 in New York City. The National Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) invited Honor Guard members of fire department’s across the country that assist with the National Memorial Services in Emmitsburg Maryland during the month of May to participate and assist the FDNY Ceremonial Unit with the service.
Firefighter Joseph Hamaker of the Deptford Fire Department, Tacoma Boulevard Station, was one of the honor guard members invited. Joe, along with honor guard members from across the United States proudly provided their services to honor those who lost their lives after losing their battles with 9/11 related illnesses.
