On November 21 at 0346 hours, the Woodbury Fire Department was dispatched for a dwelling fire at 729 Mehorter Boulevard Avenue. 501 (Gartner) arrived on location to find 3 wood frame dwellings on fire. The middle dwelling of the three was well involved with exposures to the “B” and “D” sides. Chief Gartner struck the all hands box bringing additional resources, immediately followed by the second alarm with special calls for two Brush Trucks (925 Deptford and 815 National Park)
Ladder 926 arrived and was detailed to the rear of Engine 511 and ordered to work on the Exposure B house that was now well off. Engine 613(Thorofare) laid 1000′ of 5″ hose to a hydrant in Deptford at Peterson Boulevard and Braun Court to supply Ladder 926. After some time the fires were brought under control and a lengthy overhaul was started. Once this task was being completed, Chief Gartner started to release resources from the assignment
