On Saturday July 2, 2022, the Deptford Fire Department, Westville Fire Department and the Woolwich Fire Company were dispatched for a commercial vehicle fire on the New Jersey Turnpike at the 22.3 northbound mile marker. Reports were a 22′ camper trailer was on fire. Captain Wilson (9202) advised Chief 2500 that there was a column just south of the Delsea Drive overpass and that there was a camper trailer well involved in fire on the shoulder. County Alarm Room was reporting they were receiving multiple calls Chief 2500 had the southbound companies, Squad 921 and Rescue 738 enter the highway and assist with the suppression. Engine 2513 arrived first due and quickly knocked the fire down. On the arrival of Squad 921, they were given a task of leading off with a foam line to complete the suppression and assist with the overhaul. Rescue 738 took a shadow blocking position of Engine 2513, keeping the scene safe for the firefighters. There were no injuries and a job well done by the three companies.
