The Tacoma Fire Company of Westville Grove was founded on June 23, 1923 by thirteen men who met at the home of George Bartell to form a volunteer fire company. After much discussion these members voted to name the organization the “Tacoma Fire Company of Westville Grove”. These men along with the community of Westville Grove continued their efforts of fund raising to build a fire house and purchase the first fire truck. After two years of hard work their mission was accomplished.
On Friday June 23, 2023, the membership of the Tacoma Fire Company will celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the founding of the fire company.
