On March 11, 2022 The Honorable and Legendary Assistant Chief James Smith of the Philadelphia Fire Department was being escorted from his home town to a Church in Northeast Philadelphia for his funeral service. All of the overpasses on the Garden State Parkway, Atlantic City Expressway and Route 42 were staffed with firefighters honoring Chief Smith. Tower 926 and 936 had the honor of flying the towers on the Route 41 overpass over Route 42.
