On January 13, 2021 the West Deptford Fire Department was dispatched to the 1300 block of Tatum Street in the Colonial Manor section of the township for a dwelling fire with entrapment. The first due engine signed on and reported a smoke column in the air and asked for the ” All Hands” box be struck bringing additional resources. The first due engine arrived to find two dwellings well involved and confirmed the entrapment in one of the dwellings. Tower 926 responded with a crew of five and arrived 3rd due, It’s crew was immediately detailed to the suppression group. The crew stretched two 1 3/4 hand lines and a blitz fire line from Tower 926, Three ground ladders, removed a privacy fence to permit access to the rear of the dwellings and started the suppression. West Deptford Command struck the second alarm and was requesting additional engines for water supply. Engine 931, responding of the 2nd alarm dropped 600′ of 5″ supply line from a fire hydrant on Elberne Avenue to Tower 926. The crews worked hard suppressing the fire and stopping it from spreading to other homes. All of the crews worked together keeping the fire within the two original fire buildings. Tower 926’s crew remained on location assisting the West Deptford fire crews until 1200pm.
